The theme of this year’s 2017 Met Gala is Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons. Rei Kawakubo is one of the most important and influential designers of the past 40 years. By inviting us to rethink fashion as a site of constant creation, recreation and hybridity, Rei Kawakubo has defined the aesthetic of our time.
There are lots of celebrities showing in the red carpet, we can enjoy their amazing costumes, makeup, beauty looks and of course their stunning hair. Let’s have a look their cool red carpet appearance, seize the trend of 2017!
Janelle Monáe’s Pixie Feather Style
Janelle slicked down pixie styled her hair and added a sprinkling of bling with a few well-placed jewels. Keeping in line with the Commes des Garcon theme, Monáe delivered Black Swan ballerina vibes in a sweeping Ralph & Russo gown, complete with white tulle and black feather appliques on the high neckline.
Lily Collins and Her Sleek Bob with Bangs
Lily Collins looks like a sexy vampire doll at the met gala 2017, she showed off her perfect skin wit just a hint of pink blush. Her short sleek sharp bob with short bangs, plus with her burgundy lip, black eyeliner, statement bold brows, make her looks sexy and cool.
Kim Kardashian with Her Middle Part Sleek Lob
Kim Kardashian dress in white with her simply middle part lob, she proved that “less = more ” with her sleek lob and chic makeup. In such a met gala, after seeing so much splendid makeups, maybe less is more. The middle part sleek lob is simple but never fade.
Topknot is The Most Trendy Style in Met Gala 2017
Kate Hudson’s Icy White Topknot
It is something out of a wintery dream, with her white gown that had a short train, making her looks like a ice queen.
Rihanna’s Fierce Topknot Bun
If Kate Hudson is the ice queen, then Rihanna would be the pink queen. As in sweeping blush high on her cheekbones and up toward whimsical her eyes, Rihanna looks embodied with the fantasy artwork Kawakubo which is known for including in her design pieces.
Priyanka Chopra’s Kind Like A Superhero
Priyanka Chopra just wearing a very long and fancy beige trench coat for the Met Gala red carpet, and wearing a sculpted very easy, carefree, natural look topknot — the better to show off her insanely cool exaggerated trench coat dress with massive train and extended collar. The hair was based off the clothes, and easy to achieve.
There are still lots of celebrities wear the topknot styles in the met gala red carpet, like, Helen Lasichanh, Hailee Steinfeld, etc.
Natural Afro Curls Always Chic
Though some stars opted for sexy, skintight dresses at this year’s Met Gala, Solange Knowles went a more comfortable and covered-up route, Solange Knowles glided her way down the red carpet sporting a Winter-ready ensemble. Her shiny black puffer coat (which included an unexpected train) paired perfectly with equally puffy pants and a white button-down shirt. But the chilly-weather vibes didn’t stop there, as the star also rocked a pair of oxford shoes with an ice-skate-inspired heel. Matching with her natural Afro curls hairstyle, she looks chic indeed.
So as the Zendaya! Zendaya’s soft and romantic afro makeup is definitely one of our favorites, we love her voluminous curly hair. This massive load of tight curls (which looked diffused) and bangs felt super ’80s meets Disney princess. It was likely a Wig, since Zendaya is known for wearing them. But if this was her natural hair, we wouldn’t be mad about it.
Gisele Bündchen and Her Messy Wavy Ponytail
Gisele Bündchen wore a stunning, formfitting gray dress, the messy ponytail lead eyes from her hair to her back, just make she looks more slim and sexy.
